Adjusting leos to daytime lifestyle?

Has anybody ever figured out a good method for this?

one of my leos is kinda doing this by himself.. difference of like a few hours.. lol i watch my leos too much.. but i guess an objective way would be just to control the lighting in the enclosure.. maybe up the amt of day light a few minutes every few days and adjust the heat the same way and maybe change when u feed them.. all the little details. personally though i kinda like my leos better nocturnal cause its so natural and they can see well in the dark neway. i cant imagine a leo going out in broad day light and.. mating, pooping, exerciseing.. or something. but it'd be a good task to achieve.. keep us posted

just curious, why would you wanna do this?
so you can see them more when they are active?

It's more so it's easier to monitor them.

Millions of years of evolution has made these animals nocturnal, and you want to train yours to be active during the day?

I like that they are nocturnal. They sleep during the day when I am busy, and they come out at night when I am home relaxing. Sometimes it's the diurnal animals you don't get to see much. By the time your home for the evening, they're settling in for the night.

Just stay up later. I have my enclosures go dark at 7pm so that still gives me 3-4 hours of viewing time. Plus I think Leo are more active when the rest of your house is quiet. Attempting to get them used to a time of day that is very active would stress them out I think.

Jeff, I only ask because I've heard of instances where they adjusted fine.

But it seems from the responses it's a bad idea even if it were easy so there goes that idea.

Some leos, (like mine), are inclined to be up and around during the day. It has nothing to do with feeding schedules or anything I've personally done... she's just the way she wants to be. I feed her in the evenings, yet, she's active during the day. Go figure!

Both of my 1.1 leos are pretty much multiurnal :D They don't sleep all day or all night, they just nap during the day and during the night. They only mate during the night though. My female is so curious, as soon as something moves in the room she is out at the front of the glass to see what it is, regardless of what time it is. If they get enough time to just laze around and nap, I would think you can see them active during day and night.

You could also try having daytime temps at night and nightime temps during the day. As long as they get the 24 hour gradient I think it should work.
