Finally after multiple tries with lizards and about every other trick I know, the Coral finally ate a baby cornsnake. WOO HOO! He is doing great for a Coral! and anyone who has kept Corals know how tricky they can be.

reptilez - baby corns bought as feeders are not expensive in the least. Even a normal baby sold as a pet in the states in cheap, so imagine buying a couple clutches at feeder prices.

I see you didn't pick up amelanistic ones, did you do the EVIL deed or did your coral do it?

Glad the coral ate:)

congrats!

are you gonna try to switch him over to rodents or lizards, or gonna just stay with the snakes for a while?

BWSmith

I have not decided whether to switch him or not. I prefer natural prey. But when feeding a coral snakes, they have to be fed ALOT! So perhaps I will try to switch him to scented pinks until I can get a good stockpile of dekayi, corns and rough green babies.

and yes, the coral did the honors. I was trying to tong feed and the coral was not interested. I though they were gonna become buddies after 6 hours. All it took was dusk.

On the upside, they were all babies that were born kinked.

I agree with invictus. (Not because he looks like he could put a curse on me,) BUT! There is a lot more possabilities than an expensive Corn.

Corns are free most of the time. Off season I may puy up to $3 for feeder Corns.

I guess they are more expensive out of the states. Glad to hear your coral is eating BW. Hopefully after this weekend Chuck will have a coral or two I can deal with.

Corals are a MAJOR pain to work with. Stress kills them faster than a bullet and the will not stay on hooks. It is juggling act.

Man who cares about the cornsnake, look how sweet that coral snake is. They are so amazing that sometimes I can't believe they live in North America.

Nice job BWSmith.

Well, I got one of the baby Corns to eat a pink. Gotta keep them healthy. And if they grow too big for the Coral, then i guess I have another pet Corn ;) It has happened before.

Psst brian .... rednecks feed corns to corals, although i suppose a creamcicly corn could be called a after dinner treat,Now exactly who is the redneck, and do you by chance use the espression " Hey bubba watch this""

How sweet, the coral and the corn.
The coral had to eat something.
The corn snake eat up by the coral is still sweet.
Not many people can accept the pyramid of life and i am glad seeing all those posts inside this thread.
'
I have 2 African green bush snakes. The one cannot accept mice. I couldn't convinced it to switch to mice. :(
With the other one everything went ok.
