View Full Version : 8MM To Stills?
Hey guys... I recently was given a very nice gift... a Samsung 8MM video recorder. The first thing I recorded was my little Girl (a leo), eating. I was wondering if I can, and where I would go, to get still prints from the video? Any suggestions would be helpful! Thanks in advance!

Any camera store should be able to help you out...Don't know any stores in New Mexico :p
is it video tape or film? With video tape you should be able to pause it and use a capture card, with film you may be able to go to a camera store, you may have to visit a high end camera shop for that though.

Problem with video tape and a capture card is, when you pause analog videotape, it blurs very badly. (Like hitting pause on a VCR). Best thing to do is buy or rent a digital video adapter, and digitize the videos first. Once you have it on your computer in digital format, it's easy to extract individual frames, as long as the DV comes with decent software. :)
Ugh, I don't understand what you guys are talking about! Sorry to be a pain, but what do these devices do, and how much do they cost? Thanks for the help!

Samba, ask the guy in the camera shop at Winrock he'll be glad to show and explain all your options to you. He's a pretty nice guy. BTW will be dropping off a neo to Abitha's herbary Wednesday about 1pm then heading across the street to Subterrainian Jungle :D
Ahh, and I get this too late! I worked 12 hours on Wednesday anyways... (ugh). Thanks, Rev, I'll check him out today or tomorrow... maybe I'll have some pics posted up here shortly (although I hope you guys don't mind B&W - I'm kinda partial to it! =)
Black & White is cool, i haven't worked in that medium in a long time. I miss having a dark room and enlarger. :.(
