Dry ice is at like -103 degrees F (-78C) - unless you have something that can get that cold, chances are you won't be able to store it, any warmer and it will continuously sublimate. You can keep it in a particularly cold freezer wrapped in a paper bag for a few days - but it will eventually disappear. Just buy it as you need it, will save you some effort. What ever you do, do not store it in something air tight, build up of CO2 gas can actually cause the container to explode. :)

Why on earth would you need dry ice?? and why is it in the food for thought thread??? lol that's a little disturbing... I don't know what the heck you're feeding your herps. jk

Dry ice makes a good source for CO2. Just drop a couple pellets in warm water and the smoke generated is CO2 gas. We usually only get a handful or two at a time because thats all we need to knock off 50 mice and about 20 rats. Often the guys at the dry ice place just give it to us for free cause it's too much work to do the paperwork for so little dry ice. We don't bother trying to store it, our freezer won't get that cold. It does make it inconvienient but hey, it's easy otherwise.
