I just wanted to share with all of you my purchase of 1.1 blizzards corns and 1.1 butter corns from Rich Z. at Serpenco.com
My transaction was smooth, Rich was a great guy to deal with, and the animals are flawless. I think that if any of you decide to purchase corns from anyone, Rich is the one to go to.

GR8 PIC!
I Didn't really like corns (up until last week, that was) I don't like the common animals of any sort. (Even my Parrot is a rare breed.)
The kids kept waltzing of with my Bull snake & I was getting fed up with it. So, Last week, I decided to get the kids a snake of their own. We spent £45 on 2 Corn Hatchlings 1.0 Green Blotch Snow & 0.1 Carolina. Now I can't wait to see them grow & Maybe breed from them.

Beth, I noticed you live in BC and Serpenco is in Florida. I have a few questions about that.
1) Was it difficult to get the snakes shipped here?
2) Was customs a beeotch (price-wise)?
3) What was the final cost on your snakes invcluding shipping and customs?
Having this info before I contact him would be most helpful to me. Thanks. :)

Invictus - ordering non-CITIES animals from the US is simple and is less hastle then most think. Customs is not a problem, usually only requiring inspecting when bringing them into Canada, and the cost for Gov't duty. As long as you're straight forward with them at customs, they are easy going, and most love to visit and play with the new herps.
Cost.....well hmm.
price of snakes in US funds
cost for shipping in US funds $50
duty 7% of the total Canadian $$ amount
inspection - usually free unless there are more than 7 animals in a shipment, then its considered a business importing, then I believe its $50 a year for permits. I have never received more than a couple of animals in an order other than person purchases so I couldn't give you exact $$ amounts for import permits and paperwork needed.
I live 10 minutes from WA State, so having them shipped to a friends there then going down to get them is the only hastle. I know that having them directly shipped to Canada is a bit more or a cost, with customs inspections and shipping.

Awesome corns beth, good luck with them :D
-Steve-
They're beautiful.... *sigh* reminds me of when I got my Serpenco kids...
Lucky you to live so close to the US border, since Rich doesn't ship to Canada.... then again, if I lived that close, I'd be broke and own a lot more corns... :D
Congrats on the new kids. :)
