Hey, my cornsnake has been eating baby pinky mice but sometimes he doesnt want to eat. Is it ok to put the mice i already thawed that he didnt eat back into the freezer?:grab:

something that has been thawed should not be refrozen... at least that's what my grandmother told me (about food and such).

I never refreeze prey items. No real reason why I don't and it may be perfectly safe to do so at least once but I would rather use a fresh one. I have a "garbage" snake in my collection (doesn't everyone) who gladly takes prey that another animal refuses so I am rarely faced with having to dispose of a prey item.
Cheers
When you thaw and refreeze, thaw and refreeze etc it destroys the animal's flesh and organs, basically turning it to mush, making them gross and easy to damage. I also believe that toxins are released through thawing and freezing that you don't want in your snake.

yeah, really, it's not worth refreezing. just toss it.

how often are you feeding your corn, and what size prey items? how big is your snake?

I make it a point never to refreeze.
Same here. Once its thawed it gets eaten by my garbage disposial snake or tossed out.

Why take the risk...Pinky's ar cheap just throw the old ones out.
I'd throw mine out....don't want to take the risk...unless there are more than 100 left...which is impossible....since I have so many snakes I bet that there would be some that would eat that 100....lol...
Don't refreeze them and don,t throw them out, buy more snakes :) So if he's not hungry, give it to the next one.

A 12" snake should be feeding on hoppers, not pinkies.
