Good illustration Ray. Alot of people think that when elapids are described as having "Short, Fixed Fangs", they assumethat are very small. People need to realize that the distinction is made between Viper Fangs. "Short" is a relative term. THey are shorter than viper fangs (in general), but I don't consider them to be short. Great shot, and again, great illustration.

The first time I gave a Jameson's a dose of Panacur, my eyes got as big a saucers when I saw the size of those fangs.

One question: You said "post valium" why? Thanks

"post" means "after" in medical jargon. Would you want to get that close to a mamba to photograph it without it being on some sort of sedative??? :)

Ray

 i think what he meant was, why was the snake on valium. was it getting an operation or something or was it just sedated to get that photo?

No, the valium remark was a joke refering to it not trying to bit me at the time of THAT picture. I do not do or condone un-needed surgery (such as devenomizing snakes)

Thank you, Munchy. Scott did not mean anything towards you by his post, he likes to jab at me in a friendly way. Thank you for your reply.
