Try placing a heat pad on the floor near the escape site. Check on it periodically to see if the snake has returned.
The same thing happened to a friend of mine last year when he was snake sitting for the neighbors. I asked another friend and this was her suggestion. Within two hours, the snake was curled up on the pad waiting for recapture.

keep food out in the middle of the room.also look under everything most of the time they will hide under things.hope you find your little guy.best of luck.
Hi, Don't worry, it happens to the best of us! Check out http://www.moreliaspilota.com ... I have a guide to finding escapees there!

Everyone makes mistakes. My king had the opportunity to escape a few times but didn't so I don't have any escapees yet...Do what the others say and you'll find it! :)

make sure there is no way that they can get outside. maybe close each door in your house and block the bottom, then search each room one by one, and hopefully you will find him. Once you have searched a room, leave the door open, and if you missed him, hopefully he will come and and go to the heat pad.

This is odd but when Montey always escaped, she stuck generally to the walls. One time though, I found her on the trim on top of the door....don't ask me how she got up there...lol Good luck

look up, be4 down, put flour down the sides of walls and leave a pinkie near the viv. Normally they are in the room they escaped in, so good luck!

I've never had an escapee, But, I have left the slider door to my Viv' WIDE open b4 & come back in the room to find my Bull snake looking out the open door, but NOT over the door, just looking out. I think the cats frighten her a bit, too big for her...Lol.

I agree with Thomas, look up before down, my corn was discovered hanging off of the exhaust vent of the gas heated hot water tank. Two weeks later mind you, but he did come back..:)

My friend lost his snake for 2 weeks, he found it under a pile of clothes (just as i knocked on the door strangly) he had tears in his eyes that turned into tears of joy yay!!:D
Also I know a guy who lost his kingsnake for 9 months!!!! he found it under his washing machine, he recons it must have been eating spiders, but i dont think thats possible.
Your snake is bound to get hungry and/or cold so leave a mouse in the middle of the floor and leave it , maybe in every room:) if any dissapeer, you'll know which room its in;)
good luck
I had one escape a while ago. First thing I did(not sure why it hit me right away) was duct tape over all the heat vents on the floor, so that she couldn't get into the ducts. Small ones could probably find their way through the gaps in the vents. I found her within an hour, less than 4 feet from the cage.
Good Luck. I know the feeling, and it does suck.

Hey dude,
Here is what I did when my wc yearling Speck King got out 2 moths back. I went out and bought some Glue traps, these will not harm your snake assuming you check them regularly or by the hour. Use vegetable oil to remove the snake, I never did find my king but did find my Mississippi Ring neck snake that I did not even know was out stuck to a trap. I also found a fresh skin in my house last thurs of this week. So there is hope dude and it would not be a bad idea ro leave water out in some corners and closets, etc.
This is just waht I do.Good luck...............Scott Wahlberg

I'll repeat the advice about leaving a rodent in the middle of the room. When I was a kid I had a five-foot gopher snake that often got out. I put my pet rat in the middle of the room and sat down to watch television. Believe it or not, it wasn't even a half hour before I saw him making his way toward the rat cage. :)
