I was wondering if it was safe to make a batch of CGD and then freeze it in a ice tray?
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can, you could put it in little ice cube trays and take out little portions.....it'd be SAFE, of course, nothing can really happen to it, the texture might change though :P

No, actually I don't on the grounds that my boyfriend tried it and other friends have tried it, all coming the the conclusion that it 'sucks'.
I tasted it once too. (accidentally) and it's not even sweet or anything :P Not like babyfood. I don't see anyone having much luck. But if you do, good for you and good luck :D
But if you ARE going to use it, freezing it is fine.

Why do they think its sucks? Did they have a hard time getting thier cresties to eat it? Im seriously trying to get my cresties on it because it has so much nutritional value.
Thanks

Because they don't eat it :) he says he feels his cresties grow quickly enough on a diet of crickets and babyfood.
Spirulina, bee pollen, all that stuff is pricey but available, you could mix it into baby food, it's readily eaten.
Your cresties may eat it, who knows! It's not that expensive, give it a try and lemme know how it goes :)

Punku, did you grow faster and all strong after you ate the frozen portion?

On the CGD bottle it states that your crested gecko might be relucted to eat CGD if they are eating babyfood, the key in getting them to eat it is to mix a little bit with babyfood, then increase the amount of CGD in the mixture after a couple of feedings. Until its completly CGD. Did your friends try this?
Thank

Well Steve, my cresties weren't currently on baby food just crickets and occasional baby food. So when I placed the diet in I thought they would take it like baby food but seem not to. So I will stick to my old ways of crickets and some baby food. Works for me.

if you try the baby food mixed into the CGD method, Allen from the sandfire dragon ranch warned someone in the forums that you should try and get rid of the baby food as soon as possible because when you mix it in it throws off the balance of the CGD and makes it less effective at providing the right amount of nutrients and stuff..

Hi everyone. I just poked my nose in here and I can chime in on this with alot of experience. I am currently keeping and breeding 15 groups of cresties plus have 14 hatchlings and juvies.
I have been feeding my cresties the CGD since April. I have talkd to allen on a number of occasions. All of them (100%) are eating it. I have not had any issues with any not eating it. In fact, I had some month old ones when I first started would actually strike at it like a cricket off the spoon. I do occasionally feed them crix but only once every couple weeks as something different but only after I had them on the diet for about 2 months straight. I have not offered ANY vitamins or calcium supplements and my females drop eggs every 25-35 days and aren't losing any wieght.

I dont get where people are saying it sucks. It is a complete diet including all the calcium and vit supplemts. The one thing I have run into is the mixture is key. I mean the water mixture with teh diet. You have to let it sit a few before you feed it cause if I went off th ebottle it was too dry. It made a paste almost and the cresties would lick it and wouldnt get anythign. I had to make sure it was loose or runny enough that they didnt have a problem eating it. I made it alittle more watery then what babyfood is.
Even NEW animals that I have aquired to get fresh blood into my collection have taken to it by the 2nd night offered. I guess I have been lucky that way cause I have heard of some people not gettign thier cresties to eat it but maybe they were mixing it to thick. I also before putting it in the cage I put it to thier nose to let them lick it and get a taste. 100% of my cresties are on it.

And Lastly I freeze mine using cocktail icecube tray (the baby ice cubes) Here is a link... product #4211

You will need to add a tiny bit of water once it thaws though, remember, not to thick for the cresties.
