I have read in a few places that BRB's aren't recommended to be kept if there are chldren in the house... Now, I assume that the author(s) was trying to say that if there is children in your home, you should not buy a brb. or, may he have mistakenly tried to say, they are not a snake to be kept by children? there is a big difference between teh two statements.

I am considering a BRB pair to eventually breed, however, I do plan on having children in the next couple years. Can anyone see why the authors wrote this? Is it warranted? Obviously any larger snake should not be held by small children for obvious reasons... but are they really unpredictable or something?

Also, I have read a few diff. care sheets, and they have differing opinions as to the expected size of a BRB. One had them growing from 7-10 feet, another from 5-7. which is more realisitc? Thanks guys and gals...

I have no idea why the children thing would matter. A snake is a snake is a snake and unless its venomous/20+ feet long, having children doesn't matter. That is, unless they are bratty and don't listen and get into the cages. In which case, NO reptile will be suitable.

Even if they are unpredictable, I wouldn't let a kid hold any adult Boa. Not worth the risk. But BRB's are no less predictable than common boas.

Size is 4-7 feet. 8 foot specimens are ultra-rare and you won't see one. You'll be lucky to get your to 6 feet.

My adult male is a little over 6'4" long and he is Strong as HELL...
When he is holding on to my arm sometimes I am almost scared he will broke it...
Thats probably why they shouldnt be hold by children, they are too strong and an accident can happen SO quickly..
Thats maybe why the article was saying that.. IMO...
