hey everyone. just wanted to share. i got a new tremper albino baby yesterday. she is absolutely beautiful, and we named her Peaches. she was hatched on May 18.
when i got her, i put her in her cage and she explored a bit. lapped up some calcium from her calcium dish, and ate a dozen small mealworms! she's great.
the breeder told me that his bell albino's are very sensitive to light, but that his tremper albino's are not so much. has anyone else found this to be true?

anyway, unfortunately i have no pic because i have no cam.

I have an albino and yes she is quite sensitive to light. She'll even squint her eyes, lol

Congrats on the new addition :)

All albinos are more sensitive to light to some degree -- basically, the redder their eyes are, the more sensitive they're likely to be. It doesn't really matter what strain they're from, although perhaps Bell albinos are more inclined to have redder eyes, I don't know that much about the Bells yet because I haven't really seen them up here yet.

Hope that helps a bit :)

Yes, that's what the breeder told me. He breeds Bell and Tremper. He said the Bell's are more sensitive to light because they have a lot redder eyes. According to him, they basically keep their eyes closed in any light. He said the Trempers aren't really all that bad.

Matt, what strain of albino do you have?
