Much obliged Steve, I think I got the pics going now.
Anywayz, I just picked him/her up this weekend. The guys at PCPC told me it was born someitme in May or June. Still a young one. But red though. It was a five hour drive home but , I'm so happy!

Average shell lengths for "normal" red foots run about 30cm. Some get a lot bigger. I think the record is something like 53cm. There's dwarf variety too, usually around 18cm with a bright red head...really expensive though.

I have two more, they're a few years older and not nearly as colorful. Their heads are a more yellowish color. I think I was just lucky with this one.
Congrats on the new addition! He/she is too sweet!! I got my little guy from PCPC last year as well. I wish they retained all of their red as babies, as they get older they do tend to lose it on their heads.
Congrats on the new addition,
Mardy

Thanks all.
Linds, has your tort lost its initial colouring on the head? My other two were yellow to begin with so I haven't seen any changes. Not that its a big deal, but it would just be a shame y'know?
Hi, I'm new here. I really like your cherry head redfoot, what a great find. It's nice that they stay smaller than regular ones.
I was just wondering if you could tell me where you got it, and how much..any leads would be greatly appreciated :)

He/she is not a "cherry head" (probably). Just an especially red headed red foot. Picked him up at Port Credit Pets. Check out their link on the front page of this site. About 3 bills for a "regular" red foot. They had a "cherry head" but it was $400. Red foots are hard to get in Canada. Took me about a half a year to locate one.
Hmm, yeah, that is an exceptionally red headed specimen.
Yeah, anything is really hard to get in Canada when it comes to Chelonians. I wish I could just go down to the local pet store and pic up a loggerhead musk or spot-bellied sideneck.
Did they even have any turtles at the Toronto Reptile expo?
