no they dont. Boas are not ophidiophages.

A RTB will eat anything if it is hungry enough. In the wild they have been known to eat Iguanas. Since your worried that this could happen, this must mean you house the 2 together. This is a HUGE NO NO. They are 2 totally differt typs of snakes, diferent locals, different imune sytems, different husbandry requirements. Just a real BAD idea.

Normally a RTB does not eat reptiles, but it can happen. Look for an escape rout otherwise your RTB wil soon follow your BP.

And i double checked and didn't see were the ball could have gotten in to the other side of the tank with boa so i know he didn't get the ball. but i do have 2 adult dogs and 5 pups running around the house, pups are about 2 months old and the ball is little over a year could the ball kill the pups. cause she just got finished shedding a couple of days ago and she didn't eat so i just hope she doesn;'t get that hungry to after my pups

HOw big is the boa.......how big is the ball. Yes its still a bad idea....a barrier isnt going to stop an infection. You cant heat the two sides differently same goes for humidity

A yearling ball... even most adult balls, are not a threat to puppies or dogs. I would be far more concerned with the puppies injuring/killing the baby ball.

As for your enclosure. Forget about getting a new tank and get something custom or a rubbermaid. Tanks don't hold humidity at all, and if you block it off all your gong is cutting off the airflow, which cuases the air to become stagnant. Your girl would do fine in an 11 gallon rubbermaid, or you could put her in a 2.5'x2 custom. None of these sizes will leave much room for any decorations however as she grows up.

I had her in a 20 gallon long but she was growing so fast that it didn't look like she had enough room.

Please direct me to a place that has a better info on Redtailed baos and ball Pythons cause evidently the ones i looked at wheren't to good since now i'm finding out they have very different needs.

Plez understand that i did do the research on my two babies before i got them. Its just there are so many different places that i must have got some that weren't worth a S***. EXCuse the french , or if you can help better educate me that would be great.

A ball Python 'Could" be housed in a 29 gallon tank pretty much all it's life. i think its a little small. I would say a 40 gal Breeder would be best, lots of floor space. The RTB is going to need allot more space too, at least a 4'x2'x2' cage for an average adult.

I have my 3 ft male ball in a 40 gall breeder with about 10 gall of open space for him to crawl on. He has a large water bowl, hide, fake greens that he uses as a cool hide, and a branc (from a pet store) to crawl on...... The rest is open space. He is only 3 ft now, but he is getting longer. He is in a shed now!!!

Normaly I don't give out Info on Balls Cause there is alwase some one that thinkes there beter then every one cause they own there verry own Ball python. I like to call them "first year experts"

Now with that said I will still give you a hand.

I am geting a breeding pair this week so I was forced to crack open a book and review. LOL

Now! first things forst there is only two ways to keep snakes reptiles for that matter. And for some god forsaking rason ppl still mange to fint the wrong way you see it every where on this site (not often). In Pet Stores.and so on and so on......

the two ways are as fallawos:

1. keep them clean, profecional, and dont bug them for no reason.
2. give them there natural enviorment, clean water every day and still dont bug them for no reason.

Now you need to keep in mind a few things. Tanks are for fish they are the crap for snakes.

Do you like handeling your animal. If so dont put them in a cage with like 6 difrent hides that are buried under ground just so you can go and tare apart your cage every time you wana handel your snake

2 reasons for this:
1. It is a hasel to replace every thing nicely.
2 It is just darn rude to rip open some ones home just say HI. (and it stress the animals cause they soon realise that there is no safe place to hide from THE HUMAN)..........

But if you just like to watch them move from time to time.
then you want a display cage.

So it al sums up to this like handeling use profesional and clean way. or just a ornament you like looking at a Display cage.

Pro caging

easiest way to do things:

a nice 11 or 20 gallon rubermaid the good old fasion news paper pure white water bowl and kepp it all clean and sanatary and you can easaly hadel your snake all you need to do is open the rubermaid and voila there he is.

A dispaly cage

Now we could all go crazy aranging a display cage but we will limte our selves at 6 feet by 2 feet by 3 feet high.

take a cage like that place a thin layer of mulch on the flore then place a few hides like 3 bary it with mulch and the make like litel ramps that leads to the underground hide place one or two on the hot side and at least one on the cold side palce a water bowl one each side and then start being createv with branches you can put all you want give them exercise and there you have a good display cage mist it 2-3 times a day to keep the humidity up and you will se in time your ball will find THE PLACE to enjoy it self and you get to watch.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Display = don't go looking for it just to show off to your budys.

Display means if he is out then that is cool if not beter luck next time.

I hope i dont sound too much like a jerk but hey you wanted info I gave you a few thing to think about keep reserching and you will see that I and many others are right only on difrent points.

Thank you very much for your advice. I spend as much time with my snakes as possible, at least twice a week i handle them. I don't think i want to go real elaborate with a tank, but just something to make him/her comfy and happy, but still be able to get him when i want to spend time with them.

Thank you again for the advice.
