Im on the east coast of the U.S. I have no idea where to even look for dry ice. what types of places can you get it from?

you can get dry ice at some industrial hardware shops. some places that rent equipment and welding supplies and stuff usually carry it....just call around

You can also get it from meat packers, some grocery stores as well in the fish and meat departments.

Look at welding shops (Gas bottle refilling) Most will have dry ice pellets. If you have any fish markets processing or packing plants try there too.
