Please don't bite it off.
I have a tendency to be controvercial and speak my mind. o> Just ask them over at RR or KS.
My favorite topic is Leo Genetics and I am DEFINATELY opinionated about that. :hammer:
So, keep an eye out for me.

So far all I see is talk.

You mean like how people want to call anything with a bit of orange on its tail a carrot tail, or how anything with a broken band is a jungle....
Does anyone else remember when those terms applied to ONLY genetic recessive traits...

Yup.... all those are examples.
And how about a fresh hatchling still wearing his solid banded pajamas being sold as a super hypo tang baldy just because the parents are (or even just one parent is).
According to Brian Viets Ph.D. who's probably done the most reasearch on leopard colouration, there's only about 27% chance of inheriting colouration/pattern from the parents - the rest is all affected by incubation, stress, other environmental factors and even health. In other words, you can't really tell it's going to be a SHT until the adult colours start to come in (and even then, once mature, it might not stay a SHT.)

Dan, I do not see the relavance or constructive contribution your comments make to this discussion. Would you please mind explaining yourself. Is there anything that I have done to you personally to warrant such a snide and immature comment from someone that is supposed to be a respected person on this forum? It makes me wonder if that is a reflection of all that post here?
Forum members, is that true??????
So, your comment, "So far all I see is talk." Just exactly what do you think a discussion forum SHOULD be about then?
Why do you think I should participate any further if I know all you and a few others will do it criticise and ridicule me for my comments?
What are you afraid of? Oh, I know you will say nothing, so don't bother answering in public.
I came to this forum in an attempt to be of assistance to those that are willing to accept it. I also came here in an attempt to see if anyone here has anything that I could learn because unlike some people that frequent most forums I am sure I don't know it all. If substantiated evidence can be shown that information that I am presenting is incorrect, I will admit my error.
I did not come here to be in competition with you or Beth or any other person. Do you understand that? When I participate it is either to teach what I know, correct a false understanding or to learn what someone else knows. If you cannot contribute to any of those desires then I would suggest that you keep your childish comments to yourself.
I am still willing to discuss the topic that I mentioned to you in my emails. I am sorry that it has taken so long to get back to you. I do have a life outside of leopard geckos. If you are still wanting to have that discussion, then just send me an email and let me know if you would like it to be private or public.
So, people, let's have fun.
Steven

Hi Steven-
Well I have been lurking for awhile here, figured now was a good time to post hehee. Now let's "all talk" about leopard geckos, shall we? After all, it is one of our favorite things to do, right?

Welcome Steve can't wait to see some of your animals :)
Hello Steve
I guess I should explain myself regarding my comment.
Steve emailed me privately and apparently had some problem with me labeling my so called banana blizzards as banana blizzards.
Steve it is trade name and that is all many others call them banana blizzards and as to what they really are who knows.
I have worked with them for 2 generations and have produced some very interesting hatchlings this year as to what proves out from them I do not know. I just do it because I am curious and enjoy working with the animals.
After that being said apparently you were going to set me straight from your deep breadth of genetics knowledge.
After 2 or 3 emails on your part I have yet to see any opinion or explanation. So maybe my comment lit a fire under you.
I welcome you to post your opinions on the forum and I do not tote myself as some genetics guru nor do I care about any competition in any way. I do this for fun. I may point out that the level of genetics that we deal with regarding leopard gecko crosses is at a very, very, very basic level as far as genetics goes.
I see you took offence to my comment I guess I may have taken offence to the level of arrogance that you portrayed when you decided to set me straight. I am still waiting on your opinion genetics guru.
Maybe you should take a step down from your pedastel and just relax instead of trying to set people straight.
This post is in no way a reflection of the people on this forum in anyway you could not find a better group of individuals anywhere.
Just my 2 cents.
Dan
Hello Again-
This does seem like a really nice group of people that like to share their information and pics of their animals, which I think is pretty cool. Here is a funny pic of one of my leos I thought I would share.
PS. Dan- You have some awesome geckos, your Rainwater albinos are among the best I have ever seen!

Kelli, you cant link pictures from Queensnake, The site is banned from here.
Oh ok, I see. How dumb. It's just that I have a huge photo gallery on kingsnake and seems a shame i can't share my photos here. Bleh.
There was....a fight.
Anyway, you can load the pictures onto the site here. You've got 1MB of free photo space. :)

Hiya Kelli
Load some pics to the photo album here, you are alotted I believe 40 or so uploads free, and when its full delete those you do not use to load more. Go to the 'gallery' section, and you can create your own album there.

Kelli, it's a pain in the *** sometimes, but apparently the KS people don't allow anyone to mention other sites on THEIR site, so this site has reciprocated for them... you'll have to either upload your pics into a gallery on here, or onto some other pic hosting site that allows you to link directly to your pics (I use imagestation.com)... Hope that helps! :)
Jen
Hey Kelli, STeve welcome. Don't let the pic thing discourage you. Link them from your site or something. Good to see you both here!
