hey,i recently(less then an hour ago)had my leopard gecko die on me....maybe i'm just paranoid now,i dunno...but could anyone tell me physical signs of crypto,i remember reading something in a forum about a leopard with a black spot, and it had crypto, one of my other leo's who was in the same tank, has a blue spot on his stomache,he seems to be fine though, his tail is a good size for his age, should i be worried?
some signs of crypto are loss of appetite (ends up leaving your gecko very skinny.. very), a dark patch on their under side. a lot of ppl in this forum know about it and have responded in a thread i started about crypto.. just scroll down, u'll find it

hey, thanks for replying neo,i hope and pray to god
that he doesn't have crypto,i'd be more then
slightly upset,i put not only alot of time and
money into these guys, but to say the least i'm
very attached to everyone i own...but
hopefully that's not it,they're all still eating
very well, one of them some bloody feces(which
kinda leads me to think internal parasites)
are bloody stools part of crypto??hope not...
never thought i'd be rooting for the internal
parasites...

hey all just thought i'd give you an update on my leo's stats,i don't think it's crypto, but whatever it is it isn't good,it isn't parasites either, might be some kind of bacterial infection,i have to wait for the feces tests to come back, but 2 out of the three cage mates aren't looking two well, they're all becoming dehydrated, and their skin is lookingall baggy,i've been getting them basically some electrolyte shot's into there adomen(this is very good for them!!they look so much better after the shot!!but eventually what-ever they have catches up to them again in a few days, but at least i should be able to keep them alive until i can treat it!
Bob, you need to separate all the geckos into different enclosures. They don't need the added stress of sick cagemates, and it will be easier to monitor the geckos' progress.
I don't know why you have to wait for the results of fecal exams... even with crypto tests I've never had to wait for more than a few hours... You need to make sure the geckos are eating, and you must assist-feed them if they aren't.
If they have parasites (and how can you rule this out before getting the results of the fecals?) the doc will likely perscribe Panacur, which causes loss of appetite and weight loss, you are definately going to have to invest some time with them.
For the dehydration - offer some plain Pedialyte (via syringe). You can also mix this with chicken baby food or add it to their water if they drink. Get these guys some help and keep us posted. Good Luck!

hey samba, thanks for the quick reply,i came in kind of late the day i took them in,so they weren't able to get the parasite test done 'til the next day,and as for the bacteria test,i'm not quite sure why i'm still waiting but i was told i should have results tomorrow for sure, thanks for the advise i was going to do just that i have some tubberware dishes(lol...not the most glamorous thing, but after the vet bill it was pretty much all i could afford!!)and after getting the shots they all got yesterday,i've seen them all eat,and as for the medicine,it's something called baytril, thanks again,i'll be sure to take your advise!
