Hey. i currently have only one snake. a cal king. I was wondering if it would be worth my while to breed mice to use as feeders. Would the cost of keeping a male and female, and the food and stuff be more than the cost of just buying frozen mice? esp if i have to wait for the mice to get to adult stage before i kill them?
i plan on getting an okeetee corn, probably b4 next summer, finance permitting. Just wondering what your guys input would be on this.
how different is it to care for breeding mice than for just a pet mouse (my last pet b4 my snake was a mouse, my gf bought it lol)
so, to breed or not to breed?
Not to breed. For current practaclity purposes it doesn't sound like you need a breeding colony of rodents. Unless you really want to. But remember, the snakes are easier to take care of than the mammals.

i know i didnt 'need' it, but i was wondering about the cost, if it would exceed the cost of buying frozen mice..i think that i will not do it for now, posibly one i have 2 or three to supply for, it doesn seem interesting though, could be fun

how often would their be a litter?
19-21 days average gestation. pups are weaned at 21-28 days. Female can get pregnant the day of delivering her young. Keep popping them out.

do you think the cost of breeding would exceed the cost of buying?
For one snake yes. For 2 snakes yes. For 10 snakes no.

ah..i was just reading and at the moment, im not up to it.. thanks though
Yea, you'd have 20x more rodents than snakes, but it would be a good excuse for more snakes. =P
