I have an IJ that is around 5 months old. with ij's having such slender "neck" areas, I am apprehensive about feeding him anything larger then fuzzies (2 fuzzies/week). Should he be able to take hoppers at this age? Am I just being a little paranoid?
Thanks, cheers,
Mike
My hatchling IJ are on rat pinks//mice hoppers
from the start. I just feed a month old coastal
a weened mouce no problem.
If it will eat it go with it.

Thanks Mardy... much appreciated. It just doesn't seem possible for a hopper to fit down that throat...but i will try. he eats fuzzies no problem...
cheers,
Mike

I'll give it a try for sure. I guess a hopper then? What is the size difference between an adult mouse and a rat pinkie?

Snakes are nature's elastics. Don't worry about their neck size. My BCC has a very slim neck, and he takes down huge rats. My female corn snake (About a 4 footer) takes down 2 large adult mice every feeding.

you really dont need to worry about that neck size, Ave you seen any Amazon Tree Boas eat ?
Its amazing...
Look at this neck, he can get down a small rat in there.. :)
