View Full Version : king or corn
would you guys recomend a corn snake or a kingsnake for a second snake.
thanks, kyle:D :medgoatee :medgoatee
the kingsnake would be a california king or a mexican black. and the corn would be any kind
I'd say a corn snake... they are cheaper, come in more colours and are generally tamer. But if you like kings better, they are good snakes too!

I'd say either one, buy what is more visually appealing to you, better yet, get both!;)

I think you should get a Milksnake. They can be a bit of a challenge on ocassion but mostly a very rewarding choice. A few good options would be pueblans, sinalones, hondurans, mexicans, or nelsons just to name a few.

Both are fabulous snakes. Get whatever appeals to you. I'd go with a corn, myself.
clasic and reptiledude21. i was thinking aboutgetting a milk but i dont know enough about them. how big do pueblan milksnakes get. i am loking for bigger colubrids.with that aside ,keep sending which is better king or corn.

you want big get a bull, i like corn
i would get a bull, but i heard that they are mean little turds ( well not literaly little). but kepp on sendin'. i am countin' it up
what is the snake u presently own. I would go with the spiecies u currently own just to get a little more experience then expand to different spiecies in the future.
i have a ball python but i dont really want another

Corn snake but i'm biased!!!
if you want more experience with a harder to handle snake get a king or milk. corns are great but there is NOTHING to keeping them. they rarely bite (5 of mine havent and i got 1 really wild one who did as a captive born baby and hasnt since even though i love watching his tail rattle). kings are sneaky and can bite every once and a while. my buddy has a cali king that is tame but watch out when she's hungry. she will rub you a while and then nibble on you. thats why i would go with a king for a second level snake. but if you want a really sweet snake and dont care about experience in handling go with corns. i absolutely love them. so many different morphs you cant own just one so beware.
my second breed was a rainbow. ive heard they are harder to keep even though ive never had a problem.

I've been told bull snakes are vicious.....mines been out all day, spent most of it curled up inside my t-shirt sleeping. Bigger than corns and a bit more of a challenge......mind you my wife likes corns thats what she's hopefully getting in a few days
