I'm building a rack to house my corns, cresties and leos. I'm looking at several different sized sterilite storage boxes. Can you guys let me know if you think these are appropriately sized?

4 1/2 quart - 13" long, 7 1/2" wide, 3 1/2" high.
28 quart - 23" long, 16"wide, 5 1/2" high.
52 quart - 22 1/2" long, 16" wide, 12" high
73 quart - 22 1/2" long, 16" wide, 15" high

I was going to use the 4 1/2 quart for babies, 28 quart for a breeding group of leo's and maybe for my individual corns. Do you think this is big enough for the corns or should I find something bigger? Also should I use the 52 quart or 73 quart boxes for my breeding cresties? The only difference is 3 more inches of height.

Thanks
Don

Hi, if your planning to breed cresties, i would recommend that you get a rubbermaid that has a bit more height because they are aboreal. The 73 quart sounds like the best one but maybe 1 or 2 more inches would do. Hope this helps. :D

How about a rubbermaid that is 22" long, 15" wide, and 17" high.

Don,
That should do well for a trio. Are you planning to keep them together in one enclosure full time?
Good Luck!!!

Don,
This decision is totally up to the keeper. However in the Reptiles Annual Magazine, it recommends that a natural cooling off period is beneficial to the overall health of the female crested geckos. The other problems associate with keeping them together year round is that there is always a competion for food, and one gecko might intimidate the other. These are the things that i have picked up from various threads.

Give me a email and i can send you these great document i have on the care of cresties, it should help you make a decision on this subject. Also pick up the Reptiles Annual Magazine, it contains a amazing article on Cresties. On the cover of the magazine is a close up of a jackson chameleons head. Hope this helps :D
Good Luck!!!
