Hey guys well my Gecko has been doing ok so far since I have purchased him but I noticed that he rarely eats. I bought him mealworms in a can and crickets in a can to try them out for him and he has some flies only for Leopard Geckos. My only question is why isn't he eating them? He seems quite active and he acts normal but I still dont understand why he doesnt eat the food. I am thinking about setting up an appointment this tuesday or wednesday for a checkup and see what the vet recommends. I would also like to hear what you guys think it would be and are there any suggestions of how I can help him.

You need the real kind of insects, not canned. Personally those should only be used as a last resort or if you can completely bowl train them. Believe me, go buy yourself 50 crix and your gecko will eat like mad! How are you heating the cage? If it's not warm enough it won't have much of an appetite. Hopefully the vet won't find anything bad.
Julie.

Gecko's may not ONLY eat food that moves, but moving food will get the eating reaction!!!! I would deffinantly reccomend using live food, such as crickets or superworms. Something that they can hunt and catch.

My geckos eat all sorts of foods that don't move... canned crickets, babyfood, etc.
