Well, tonight was the first attempt to feed Huxley since I brought him home last week...he didn't take the food, but I put him back in his tank with the (dead) baby rat, making sure he knew where it was, and am hoping he'll take it overnight. lol...you should have seen me trying to handle this stupid pinkie with chopsticks...I'm not great with chopsticks when I'm *not* nervous! But I calmed down, and even managed to brain the rat in the end! (although it was with a tack cuz I didn't have a nail, so I doubt it did any good)

I was prepared to have these difficulties, though, and I remember everything you guys have said about encouraging snakes to eat (although, yeah, they eat when *they* want to, etc.) so I'll make a food run tomorrow, and maybe try again in a few days. I am calm, I am Zen. This isn't really a question...I just wanted to update ch'all! :(

I think ball pythons, at least when young, feed better in their own tanks. It usually only takes a wiggle with hot dog tongs(lol) when theyre roaming and they will nail it, but sometimes they want it perfectly still, it deopends on the individual snake. I've gotten better results putting it sort of an inch or two beside their head. Ball pythons will also not feed when you want ithem to, as you said, its on their terms. I wait til mine is roaming so then I know it wants food and i've had perfect results thus far.

Lol yeah I wouldn't use chop sticks! ;)
