Yup, blizzards are the best! Do you find any slower growth or smaller size with your bliz? My Silica is four years old and just over 3 feet. I got her as a yearling and she was tiny!! Nice to see more of these in Canada.

So you're in Saskatchewan, eh? I'll be moving out there sometime myself, hopefully we'll meet up and compare bliz's!

Nice photo - natural light? was the background black or is it just selectively underexposed from the close-up field of view? How do you get them to sit still for these close-up shots??

Katt, actually I'm not sure.... He's definitely smaller than my other '02 snakes, but he was smaller when I got him. I am starting to think he's growing a bit slower though.... I suppose time will tell.

I'm actually up in Fort McMurray right now.... I'll be back in Sask January - May, but then I'm probably coming back here.


Mary, the light is from the flash - it just happened to be centered on the neck instead of the head (you can see where it gets very bright at the top of the pic - the original has more of the neck in it, but it's all washed out). The black background is just because all the light reflected off Wyrms neck instead of off the background (ie: I was lucky ;) ). Normally for closeups I do the hidebox method - put them under something and wait until they're comfortable, then pull the hide up. They're usually surprised enough to just freeze for 30 seconds or more... even when I'm sticking a camera right in their faces. *L* THIS picture I was actually holding him, and he decided to sit still just long enough for my camera to focus. (I took headshots of 6 of my corns when I was doing photos, and only this one and the one of my lav boy were in focus).
