there are so many different species but i was wondering out of theese two which u think are better starter snakes.

I agree with Vanan. If you want to start with a colubrid, the Corn Snake is the way to go.
They come in many different colour and pattern combinations, and are hardy and easy to keep.
I find that Milk Snakes tend to be a bit more skittish and are usually extremely shy.

I totally agree I chose the cornsnake. My corn was a FANTASTIC eater definately no Ball Python

You really can't go wrong with either of those. It all comes down to personal choice, what appeals to you visually. There's always kings... =P

The best starter snake is the snake you like most and will stick with for 10+ years.

My vote is for corn too. My milksnake wasn't nearly my first and I am glad. He is shy, fast moving, skittish and likes to bite and crap on me. LOL. My cornsnakes have all been either quite agreeable to handle since day one, or have become used to handling within a couple short weeks.

stick with the corns i had a milk and just like marisa wrote it milked all over me every time i picked it up and then for about two months every time i stuck my hand in the tank to do anything it would bite me. sob. so i found him another home but i have no complaints about any of my 11 corns
