WHen I had my columbian, I hosed him down with the spray bottle once a day as well as keeping the humidity 60-70 percent. And still some days I would find him in his water dish!
BCI do fine around 50% or so. They don't require high humidity levels at all, you can mist them around the time of their sheds, but mine do fine without it as well. If you keep it too high they may develop respiratory problems and skin conditions such as scale rot.

How hot was he? Did he have any skin conditions or mites? Thats awfully high in the frst place to keep the, and to top that he was still sittin in his dish. I would carefully have everything assessed again...

His hot side was about 85 with a basking spot of about 95 and his cold side with his water dish was about 78. I kept him for about a year before selling him. He had NO skin conditions mites or respitory problems and was vet checked every two months (as are all my herps). Healthy as can be thanks!
