So we had the privilege of seeing all of Ryan and Sheila's collection! And awesome one at that! But I have to say these two pics have me in awe of these colubrids.

I really like the pic of the female spilotes, methinks we should send it to midwest.

I never thought I'd get a chance to keep spilotes, much less tame ones. We value these 2 as much or more than our indigo's - absolutely amazing snakes to keep.

(P.S - we are back home for 34 hours)

Got to hold their Taiwan at the Red Deer show today, quite tame in my opinion, VERY strong though. :)

Yeay, amazingly strong... I held her when I was on vacation a few weeks ago... and did I mention that I bought her last availible '02 offspring!!!:D

She's growing like a weed, and she's so calm, she's practically a lap snake (well, unless she feels like exploring!).

matrix1829 - Pretty much all of the asian beauty snakes are hit and miss when it comes to temperament. They do have a reputation of being very bitey, and about half of them EARN that reputation. So, if you want to take a chance at having 8 feet of nasty on your hands, by all means get one. :) It's WELL worth it if you get one that is, or can be, tamed.

Ryan and Sheila's Taiwanese was an absolute joy to hold. The strength of these snakes is absolutely unbelievable, and sometimes you forget that you're holding a COLUBRID, not a boid. :) It was a great experience, and one that makes me glad that we have two blue beauties. (One of which seems very tame, one of which might end up being 8 feet of nasty. :) ).
