Hello everybody, my name is Adam, i'm 16 from North Carolina (UNC Chapel Hill!) and i found these forums and i thought it was just excellent. So many people!!! I love it. Anyway, i registered and all, and i'd love to join the club! I currently have a Golden Gecko, a marbled gecko (who isn't doing to great), and 3 leapord gecks (2 juvinile jungle phases, and one slightly younger blue-gray leusistic!) I'll get pictures when I can. I was sort of wondering if anybody could help me positivly identify the marbled gecko, since i was told it was a golden gecko and it obviously isn't. I'm pretty certain it is marbled, but can't tell for sure. I'll add pictures later. As for him, he seems to not eat anything, and I'm not sure what to do about it. He lost his tail when i first got him, so i thought he may not eat very much because of that, but he lives with the golden, and they get along fine and the golden likes mealworms, but won't touch crickets. I know there are electrolites that you can add to the water to get them to eat, but i don't want to go out and buy some if i can give them something like gatorade or something like that. For a while i thought he wasn't drinking the water, but he must be because he has been alive for weeks (seemingly without eating) and weighs a good ten grams less than the golden gecko and looks rather skinny. I keep a lamp on them, and mist the tank once a day. I'm thinking it's possible he may be stressed, because i don't have any sort of hiding space for him, but the thing is that when i had a moist humid hide and dry hide in both warm and cool ends, they never seemed to want to use them. They prefer to hide in the upper corners of the tanks on the glass, and seem content there, because i've got the tank covered with black plastic covering in the back, and so they hidden anyway. I feel very bad because i can't seem to get them something happy. The golden seems to eat fine and everything, but not the marbled. I'll take pictures of my setup and see if anybody can give me suggestions. Thanks a lot,
Mr. Gray

First of all welcome to the site and second I also have an unknown gecko that doesn't seem to be eatting. I have pics of mine on my site (http://www.geocities.com/dark_angel_x322/Angelpics.html) . I can get it to eat baby food if I drip a little on its nose and use a baby spoon but it doesn't seem to eat besides that and it is really flighty so i can't handle it at all. so my suggestion is try some mango baby food and see if it will lick it off the spoon, of it does try adding some vitamins or calcium to it and feed it that way. It also doesn't hurt to leave it in a bowl in the tank, but remember to change it every few hours to prevent spoilage.

Good luck!

Yes! Mine looks just like that! He is also very timid, and will bite me if i try to handle him (when i clean the cage, i try to move them into shoe box for a while. At first he resists but then he calms down. But ok, i shall try the mango baby food. Thanks a lot!

I got mine at a reptile show. He seems to have very very small claws, but is unable to use them. He can't climb on my shirt at all, for example.
