I think I got my first mealie beetle almost a month ago. I now have at least 100 but I don't see any babies yet. How long does it take before babies show up? Is it possible to have a non-breeding colony?

They are there, just tiny or still eggs. It does take a while, it took a couple months till I had usable mealies.
I don't think it could be possible to have 100 infertile beetles! If you do, either you live near a nuclear plant or should run to buy yourself some lotto tickets!!! LOL!
Like the others said, the eggs and baby worms are there, just so small you can't see them yet. It takes a few weeks to see them and after that 2-3 before they are big enough to use. It's only been a month since you've had your first beetle, how long since you've had a couple of dozen? Calculate 4-6 weeks from the time you had enough to start breeding in decent numbers and you'll start seeing them, especially close by the veggies.
Keep your colony in a warm area, mid-eighties and they will grow faster.
