Hey I got home from work today and I noticed my gecko shedding . Now what I want to know is how long this process takes and if misting the gecko helps him through the process? I want this to be safe for me as well as him. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.
you need to buy some moss from a pet store or a breeder and moisten it and then stick it in the place that he hides in, the water will loosen his skin so he can shed better

Don't spray him, leo's don't like to be sprayed with water. As suggested by Bencb3, get some moss and moisten and put it in the hide. Personally, I have a tupperware container which i use for a hide. I cut a hole in the side to get in and out, and i filled the container with paper towel and made sure it formed a little cave thing. Then i moisten it and put it on the heated side of the cage and my leo's will use it as they need. I usually only moisten it occasionally, especially when they look like they are about to shed.

I keep a disposable plastic rubbermaid container in the cage at all times with a small hole cut in the top. It is filled with damp vermiculite. You can also use moss or bed a beast. Some ppl have problems with the leo trying to eat the vermiculite. It is very important to keep this humid hide in the cage, or else the leo could have problem shedding, particularly on the toes. Once they actually start to shed, it only takes a short amount of time. Should be done in less than 1/2 hour if he isn't having any problems.

I use a little hide box with moisened moss in it to help with shedding.
i got the experience of watching the complete shedding process.. i dunno if u want me to describe the whole thing.. if u do i will..it only took my juvenile maybe 5 minutes. I didnt spray her and she did just fine. i dont have a humid hide in yet either but the shedding went well. watch out for toes though
