how old is the BP? if it's a baby, 20 will be enough for it (might be too much...but it'll prob. be okay). Might need a new one in two or three years, depending on how fast it grows. Just make sure that it has more floor space than height, since BPs aren't really climbers.
Does that sound right to everyone?

I'd say it's fine for a male but an adult female should have a bigger cage then 24x12.

if u buy when a baby or a yearling it is ok for a wile. a cage should be at least 1/2 as long as the snake and 1/2 to 1/3 of the snakes leinght in width. but it should be ok for a wile i keep my BP in a cage that is 48X12 or something like that. i dont see my BP ever climb but it is good to have something just in case and also for them to rub up agast to start shedding.

A 20 is ok till it grows about 3 1\2 feet. just like conel said females grow much larger then males so you might be good for about 3 years.
a 20 gal is too small for an adult. you want a minimum of a 30 gal breeder or bigger. heck even a young hatchling can handle that providing you have enough hide boxes. all more space does is give the snake more space to thermoregulate.
