What would be the best wood to make and enclosure out of and what do you line it with to make it water proof??

then enclosure is for a corn snake and one for a ball python

I like melamine, less work then most other woods.

Melamine is a cost efficient and very water resistant medium to use. Make sure you silicone all of the joints though. It's particle board under that plastic coating, and it'll warp like you wouldn't believe. :)
