Morph questions

Well now I am interested in all the different morphs especially since seeing BigDan's awesome looking little banana/patternless oops. I have been doing some reading and i am curious what constitutes a high yellow? or a ghost? or even a golden? I found this (http://www.ss-leopardgeckos.com/phases.html) site and was wondering how to tell the difference. It would be nice if they had more pictures... does anyone know of a better site?

Do carrot-tails start out with the orange tail or does it grow into it?
Also how would you tell (for a beginner like me) a high yellow for a normal without having them side-by-side?

I want to breed these cuties in the furture and figure I should start learning now so when the time comes I am prepared. There is also a reptile expo (http://www.narbc.com/htm_chi/show_main.htm) in Chicago on Oct 11th and 12th so I am thinking of picking up a few more leos there and would like to know what I am getting and if it is a deal. Not to mention genetics has always interested me.:)

Babies don't have the orange on their tails when they hatched - it develops later.

Also how would you tell (for a beginner like me) a high yellow for a normal without having them side-by-side?
High yellow's are a bright yellow colour, normals are a drab brownish-yellow. You probably won't come across any normals anymore, they are all nice and bright now.

It's my understanding that a high yellow has to have little to no spotting on it's legs (or maybe just it's back legs). But Zoe is right. If you get a chance to see some of the older ones, closer to the wild caught (I think Youkai has a good example of this) even todays "normals" have changed dramatically from their wild counterparts.

:confused: :confused: I got a Q to ad to Dark_Angel_x322 Q's.. i was wondering i have a small Lep gex commin in as a rescue it has droped its tail, now my Q is its all white no markings and has lots black dots all over it with black eyes.. What phase or morph is that i havent seen any around anywhere that look like it at all...:confused:

Wow that is an amazing Leo... about how much does one of those cost?

Also I thought of another question. On average at what age do leos get their spots? I know it is a gradual thing, but about when are the spots fully visible and the solid faded? And do their spots change as they grow or are the spots on a subadult going to stay that way?

Ok better yet.... any recommended reading? :) That way I won't have to ask billions and billions of questions.:D

Tim and Julie B, wow thanks soooooooo much thats it thats what she looks like.. dont know if she will make it as shes just a walking skeloton, shes badly starved and dehydrated and the tail is gone but theres a small nub growing.. poor girl made me cry shes soooooo cute but so sad to even look at her.. we got some vitamin calcium drops down she lapped a few drops then she lapped some baby food just to put something in her stomach.. put her in a ICU cage and now shes sleeping shes so weak, she showed intrest in mealworms and ate one small crix. gona keep up with the vitamins and baby food and give her some wax worms, then if she takes any other food il only go slow till she can eat better dont want to over tax her system.. wish me luck on her, poor girl shes so small and fragil..:( :( :( pure white with tons black spots.. I also got what appears to be a light yellow pastelish male that came in with her, hes in alittle better shape and bigger.. Hes in ICU cage also, he ate 3 meal worms in the soft stage and 3 crix plus he got a good dose of vitamin calcium to.. Lets just hope i can pull this girl thru and she gets well and gains weight......
