Does anybody know a website where I can buy a good, cheap cage for my Brazilian Rainbow Boa? I don't want a rubbermaid container. I want one that is good to show it off.

I also want to know how to light cages like the ones on boaphile and other cages like that.

Boaphiles are probably as cheap you will find that are suitable for BRB. They are pretty well the only cheap, good cage out there. Other than that, cheap and good don't usually go together ;) You can use rope light in them as well. Not sure how they hold up in terms of using fluorescents or anything though.

I've heard Precision Caging in Ohio have some decent cages, I think they run about 186.00 shipped.

Depends what you build it out of, whether you put in electrical, if you use glass or plexi, types of hinges or locks you use, etc etc. It can cost anywhere from $75 for a crappy enclosure to $300 for a really good enclosure, depending on the materials you use.

A 4' enclosure for $186 shipped is a really good price. I made my own cage and ended up spending as much as I would on a premade enclosure while getting something less functional. I'm glad I built my own so that I had the experience, but for my large-sized snakes I'm just going to purchase enclosures from now on. :)

is melamine not reasonably cheap? i think it produces a decent cage...nothing like real wood though, but then again, you may not have the coin to buy the real wood.

try posting on the "cage/enclosure building" forum.. you may get a better response... just a thought..

Snakes are expensive. Save up and get a good one. I LOVE Precision Caging (http://www.precisioncaging.com) . Having the proper enclosure is all part of responsible keeping. Don't scimp.

Precision Caging.........a 4 ft cage for 150 dollars, then 36 dollars shipping.......186 dollars for the cage and shipped......THATS CHEAP.....there's anothe website that has the same cage (about 6in-1ft bigger all around) for 299 dollars.....WITHOUT the shipping chargers.......so 186$$$$$ is as cheap as your going to get unless you build it from scrap and spend under 20 bucks for sealers and locks and such.....
