First off, only one city in Canada is trying to ban reptiles (the sale of really, not ownership). That doesn't mean that ALL of Canada is doing so, especially the East coast. Besides, there are several cities and states that have restrictions in the US! Same as Canada. The plus with Canada is that we still have trees and a kick a$$ medical system.

I just haven't had too much time lately. Baby herps hatching everywhere! LOL and yes, I know you have trees:D, we just have more of them. You should move to Canada, especially BC. I just can't get over how beautiful it is here, and peaceful.

I was on my way there anyways:D I have some time today so:p If your looking for a place by a big lake, come to Kelowna. It's super warm in the summer and endless snowboarding opportunities in the winter!

what about all the HUGE bugs and spiders:eek: i couldnt deal with it myself........ but australia seems pretty cheap as far as houses go...
id like to move out to us/canada for a few years/months... or go when i finish college for a few months.... do a little touring^_^
i doubt id be able to get enough money to even fly over there though!!

i still like england though.... it may not be the best for herping or for herp shows but... it has its good points! like.. erm.... i cant think of any right now.....!!! but its a bloody good place! so blah!:p

I am not a fan of bugs but I could get used to it and no matter where you live you have to sacrifice something

I like ontario, the only restrictions on herps are some of the native species and certain cities have restrictions on hots/size/number. Where I live in ontario i haven't been able to find anything about restrictions other then the provincial restrictions, which means if hots are your bag you can have them, if big snakes are your bag, you can get them too... and houses are cheap. only bad thing is there's not a huge amount of hiring going on.

I'd say the Toronto area is pretty good, but, as people said, it depends on what you want to keep. Municipal by-laws can be a pain in the butt. However, from what i've heard, they are only enforced if there is a complaint (correct me if im wrong here).

What about Niagara? I dont know what their herp restrictions are there. I think of this because isn't Dragon Farms located there? Also, wouldn't it be easier to get to some of the herp shows in the north eastern US ? (not bringing anything back of course ;)

my $0.02.. where i live currently, there are NO restrictions. However, next week when Jess and I move, all our pythons will be on the "no no" list. BUT, what our landlord doesn''t know wont hurt her. I am not condoning breaking by laws BTW.

Regardless of where you end up, Good luck on your search.

If you're thinking of moving to Toronto, you'd best have a very well paying job. Rents are INSANE in TO, and living is very expensive. I know tons of people who moved from Alberta to TO, and they always end up coming back to Alberta. However, in Toronto's favor, there is a huge herp community there. As another downside, there's also a lot of humidity. :)

Florida, USA is the Mecca of herpetology. If pursuit of the hobby is you main reason for moving, that is the only place to be.

well ive decided to stay (i gues what made me whant to move was seeing all the expo's pics and whanting to go 2 1) and all my famely is here but if things get a bit bad ie. ban on reptile's, prices get to high or shops start closing.
