Dr Wolfgang Bohme has published a checklist of the Varanidae in the journal: Zoologische Verhandelingen (in english), and can be purchased from the museum, Nationaal Museum of Natural History, PO Box 9517, 2300 RA Leiden, The Netherlands. Vol. 341:1-43. It is filled with color photos, a listing of each species/spp, and brief noes on their distribution of same. Its a good little paper for those interested in who is who, and a brief synopsis of the Genus as a group.
