How Much do kingsnakes cost. I have a ball python but want to get a king snake for my next snake. Are they expensive? I saw a black and white kingsnake for $120. it was about 2-3 ft big. Are kingsnakes easy to take care of or are they harder than ball pythons. Any ideas before i get one?

There a lot of different kingsnakes out there... they can go for as little as 50$ or much more. Research them and find a type you like.
And yes, for the most part, kings are as easy or easier than ball pythons (if you care for it right, of course).

Yep Zoe is right. Some kings can be had for 50 bucks...hatchlings normally. Some cost fr more than this, adults especially.

Honestly, if *you* like the snake, then its worth 120 to you. I myself have a black and white California Kingsnake and he is wonderful. I love him.

You'll find they are very easy to care for, easier than your BP. Humidity issues aren't as much of a concern, they are normally CRAZY feeders.....the only real big differances you'll find is BP's move slower most of the time, and also poop less. Kingsnakes are seemingly always on the go, and they have a fairly fast rate of crapping LOL. :D

You're in California? They're are many, many places you can get info, pics,and snakes from out there. Some of the nation's largest breeders are there. Hatchlings can be as little as $10. USD but if you're new to the hobby, research very well BEFORE making a purchase. These forums are great for that. Most people here are willing to help out,but as I said, you need to do the real work. Which one is right for your particular likes and dislikes, space available, time and $$ involved, etc. Good luck finding one that suits your tastes! There's a million out there, so I know you will.

being in California, you should go by East Bay Vivarium, they have Kings from yearling desert or Cape kings at $50 to adult Knobs or Ruths for $200-250. They do alot of their own breeding and have an exceptional line of red-tails

drunkshadow...i am in the exact same position. i have a ball python and i am looking for a kingsnake .i am looking for a good price and looking in the wild. i can catch them here. i live in california so i can catch those black and white ones that you were talking about(they really sound like california kings to me) as for the prices i can get one for cheaper bought for less than 120$. go to www.**************/cherry . i hope that, that helped

hey! if you catch a wild one, you should breed it and rerelease them back in to the wild, i hear they're getting a bit rare;)
