Looks like a great display to me but I'm no designer. How are you going to do the lighting & heating in it ? I've been thinking of one myself but i'll admit .... I'm lost on how to do it !

thx it took me a few mins to draw up (and 2 hours beging my mum to give me the money) my corn loves to slither about and i think he will be a big boy wen he is older, if he isnt i might divide it 40inc 10 inc and have the leo food in the 10inc space, ive got a digi video cam so i will film me building it frm wen i get the stuf to wen ive moved the snakes in (ime geting a few of the famely to help) so hope fully i will have it nearly dont in 1-2 days non-stop work but ive got to price things up first

yeah thats what i thort he will be the first to move and ime geting to work on his bit on his birthday (its feb 17th) then my bp's (the one next to hers is a spear one) on her birthday (april 15) and then onto the leo's, can u use dimer switches to controle a heat lamp
Yes you can control a heat lamp with a dimmer. It is a very nice desigh but I have a few questions.
1) Is there a reason you are making the BP cage 30" tall?
2) Are you using heat lamps or wiring your own fixtures in?
3) Is the corn getting extra overhead head? If it is I think you will run into the cage not being high enough to allow you to mount heat in there unless you are using an UTH. I may be mistake with my question. Feel free to correct me.

o and what do u mean by "2) Are you using heat lamps or wiring your own fixtures in?" ime puting heat lamps in
I wasn't sure if you were hanging the dome lights or if you were going to buy light fixtures and wire them yourself. I assume your going with the dome lights.

Nice. Looks like you are giving your ball python way more height than it needs though. You could also fit ANOTHER herp in if you split that section in half! ;)

Your 30" tall bp area. That could be turned into two 15" bp areas with the same square footage... aren't two bp's batter than one?!?!? :D

looks nice but i would wire it all up with heat tape! i used flexwat heat tape and it works wonders for my burm cage also if you need a large amount it is like 2 bux a foot or something so it pretty cheap. but if you do go with undermat heating and you do use heat tape you have to a) connect it to a commertial thermastat where you plug it in and it has a dial you turn to ajust the amount of electricity that goes to the heat tape. but the only problem with that is that they cost about 40 bux i dont know how much that is in pounds but here its alot for what you get so what i did is wired a rhilostat switch that you use to dim lights to a surge protector and pluged my heat tape to that, and it was about 8 bux, if you do decide to use heat tape and want to save a good bit of money that how u can save about 30 bux (that food for about 2/3 of the yeat for your corn snake) you can ask a guy at a hardwhere store how to do it and they should be able to tell you or if your serous about doing it PM me and ill make a post about how to do it with pictures and stuff,

Don't use heat lamps to heat snakes. Well, at least not the type of snakes you are going to house.
Like mike and jeff said, don't use heat lamps, use heat tape or UTH's for ball pythons and cornsnakes. heat lamps take up too much room and can burn the snake, not to mention the snakes will benifit from a belly heat rather then overhead heat. good luck with your enclosure

ok i wont for my snakes but can u just say i like in the uk and we dont have heat tape or strips we only have mats and lamps. but the way its going it dusent look like i can build the storige bit and have to build it with legs and i dont have a job (but looking like hell for 1) and just to show u how mutch this is going to be its around £70 just for the glass ($200can) so ime going to be verry busy geting money.
