Burmese- to answer your question- we all have put that flag on our cars as a remembrance of our armed forces across seae fighting for us, this helps to show our support. Whenever 9-11 happened every one in america was asked to burn a candle in remembrance of the lost ones...i dont think it is too funny.. and no they dont come factory with those flags, even though they should.

OMg didn't you ppl notice Jeff CLOSED the other thread about this crap. Yes be proud of what country you live in, celebrate your holidays, but do it with class and don't bash the other countries.
Whether you are American or Canada, heck some of us on here are dual citizens, it doesn't matter, except that you are happy that you live in whichever country, that you have the most freedom of speech in the world, that you can live with your families, and not worry if your sons are go to HAVE TO become soldiers, or your daughters are goung to be sold off as virgin brides to some person you've never met and you'll never see her again, or that your house might get blown up on a daily basis just because you practice a religion that's been around for 1000s of years. Both of our countries are good food, and CLEAN SAFE water to drink. We, for the most part, have a roof over our head, food in our stomachs, and clothes on our backs. We should be thankful that we live with such things, 100s of other countries don't have that freedom.

i like the states, an i think it is a nice place ... but after living in BOTH countries, canada is by FAR the supirior nation ... we do not start wars, we clean up after them ... and we are by far more advanced in our health care and education systems, along with taxes and crimes ...
i am not saying the US is a horrible place to live, only after seeing both sides, i prefer canada ... if it werent for the canadian natives, you guys wouldnt be eating chocolate!!!

Before all this arguing, I dont think a single american had even the slightest clue that Canada has helped us in a war. They probably showed up after it was over then the president desided that he felt sorry for them and told them that we couldn't have did it without them, so they wouldnt think they wasted the trip overseas. I don't even think that Canada is in the history books for fighting in any wars. Except the one against france or england or whoever they 'fought' for freedom. My biggest problem with you people is that you take credit for burning the white house

Apparently you Americans need a history lesson.

Canada was fighting in World War II LONG before America got involved. Canada entered the war on September 10, 1939. (I remember that date because it's my daughter's birthday.) America didn't get involved at all until much later (November 1940). That's a year and two months after the war started! So don't say we never backed America up. It's the other way around.

As for World War I, Canada was a commonwealth nation at that point, and thus we had to join the war at the exact moment Britain did. Which also means we were dying on the battlefield long before the states even knew there was a war going on.

We also got fully involved in the Gulf War.

Read a book. You find lots of interesting things in them. :)

As for your question of wars that Canada has helped in... The Boer War (did the USA even show up for this one?), WWI (from the start, not a few years later after playing merchant), WWII (again from the start, not after playing merchant and being forcefully dragged in be an attacking country), Korean War, plus countless police actions and clean ups after wars.

Wars we've sat out on... Spanish-American war, Vietnam (the second war that the usa lost) and the second gulf war.

Wars Canada has started... this is a very short list because there aren't any.

For one are military is one of the best in the world. In california if you get caught with pot all you get is a ticket. You only go to jail if its over an ounce. Hey! I have dual citizenship. My Mom was a Canadian when we were born and my Dad was a GI (U.S. Navy) She took her citizenship test in 1977, we were so proud of her! I love both countries and still visit with my relatives in B.C. when I get the chance. (they're so far away now... :( )

Y'know it's cold in some parts up there...it may be fun to snuggle up to our neighbors up North!
