how to feed a hatchling anole?

a friend of mine recently found a hatchling anole at her flower shop.....apparently it is common when importing plants....anyhow...i know little about lizzards....so i've come to you for help!:) this is the information that she gave me....the anole is about an inch long and is housed in a 20 gallon tank with about an 1.5" of repti-bark. There are branches and pothos in the tank.
She was told (by a petstore)to mist the plants frequently because the anole drinks water from the leaves and they told her to feed it pinhead crickets....what worries her is that the crickets are so little that they will be lost in the substrate and the anole won't find them....is that a possibility?...if it is....how can it be remedied? I'm in the process of getting some caresheets for her and maybe a good book....any recommendations there?....

try either feeding him outside the tank so he doesnt lose them, putting the crix in a shallow but slippery dish or upgrade to 1/4 sized crickets that baby vields eat.

If it's a real concern, take out the reptibark and just go with paper towel for a substrate.... just watch the humidity.

Anoles have very good eyesite for reptiles, so you shouldn't be too worried about that. If you are afraid of the anole consuming some of the substrate with the crickets, you can feed him/her inside a separate tank or rubbermaid container. The advice above should be followed. Since you aren't that knowledgable about reptiles, I suggest you and your friend do some research online, and have fun with them! They're active and personable pets! Make sure you dust the crickets about 2 or 3 times a week since your anole is still young and growing. I would offer food daily, but many don't have time for that. 4 or 5 times a week should suffice, or if your anole has plenty of room to hide, you may leave the crickets inside the enclosure! if its really small put it into a little critter cage. and put some wingless fruitflies in the cage. this is what i did with my baby anoles..pputin it into the cage could stress it out especially being wild..

thanks for all the advice everyone:) She's noticed the anole is growing and looks a little plumper so he must be finding the crickets!...anyhow i will pass this information to her...thanks again!
