View Full Version : What are Your first Choice Veggies for your Reptile??
I think it would be great if everyone could list their first choice veggies and fruits that they feed to thir reptiles. Also let us know what kind of reptile you are feeding, and perhaps why you choose what you do. Thanks!!
Here are mine:

Fruit: Strawberries and Raspberries
I feed these to my beardies, hardwickie uro, and my red foot tortoise.

LOTS of things i wanna list
Veggies--collard mustard turnip carrots green beans (anything green they love)
Fruits: Mango, strawberry, melonballs(whatever those are)LOL I don't eat fruits so i don't know much but my friend is an exotic fruit specialist that make fruit dishes for me. so whatever he puts in it they love LOL
I feed them to my bearded dragons i also use it to gut load my crix. at times.
Prickly pear cactus pads and fruit are one of my big staples, very nutrient dense! I give them to igs, beardies and give away pads to my friends with uros and cresties.
I also love yucca root, papaya, figs and mulberry leaves as nutrient dense taste treats. I'll even give those to tortoises that can't handle the high sugar/low fiber content of most grocery store foods.

I have the hardest time getting collard and mustard greens. Even tried to grow my own this year and the dang seeds didn't take well, the ones that did got eaten from something outside. :( So I mainly use dandelion, romain, endive, carrot tops, parsley from my garden and by some kale and collard from the grocers when they have it along with the occasional beet greens and bok choi.
got to have some squash in that mix though, my beardies love it. For fruits we go with strawberries, raspberries, and pear.
