Has anyone experienced a Mexican Black hissing? None of my other snakes do this and my Mexican Black never has since I have had him.

Jose is a bit of a nut and bites us quite a bit anyways, But this hissing is new. He moved into a rubbermaid last week from a tank. Tonight I was sitting eye level with his rubbermaid....he was right next to me. Everytime I would move he would make a loud hiss noise. Like a extra loud breath. I thought the first and second were sneezes....(oh no!) but then I realized he was doing it on purpose and it wasn't quite a sneeze.

Anyways I have never noticed any of my snakes doing this before, and I found it interesting to notice for the first time. I am sure some of you have hissy snakes! :D

Our mexican black doesn't hiss, but one of our corns is pretty nervous and definately hisses when startled. For our bullsnake it was just normal communication! Do you think it is the change from a tank to a rubbermaid that has brought about the change in your guy?

I am thinking that was it. He is just nervous in his new surroundings. He is not "friendly" to begin with so this might have pushed him over the edge LOL
