Where did you read ten years? I only read two years in the article posted...

The ring was under observation for more than a decade, and the break came when investigators managed to infiltrate the group by posing as dealers, trappers and customers, officials said.

This was the the part that was being referred to.The article says 2 year investigation first then it says this.

So, they were selling illegal snakes and amphibs. It didn't say that the animals were being abused in any way. I mean, the law is the law, but as posted in another thread, some people on this board have er, umm... "friends" who have restricted herps. :) Kudos to the cops for a bust, but even bigger kudos to them if the animals were being harmed in any way.

Owning restricted herps is fine but when they are being taken out of the wild thats when things get sticky especaly if they are indangerd I personaly am glad those *** holes got busted.

They cant bust anyone on mere heresay they needed evidence before ANY thing could be done
