They're very calm and lovely, though the girl's in shed. Nice temperment, now if I can just get them switched over to frozen thawed... They're around 8 months old and approx. 2.5 ft. Hot side is 85, cool side 78, humidity around 70% ambient outside their mossy hide tubs. I haven't kept a BRB in 10 years so any suggestions on updated husbandry will be appreciated.
I'll post some pics when I get my film developed and scanned.
Thanks,

I keep mine in rubbermaids with lots of damp newspaper for them to crawl through. I drop in one F/T rat and walk away and they have always taken it with out any problems so I think you should have no problem switching them.
Good luck,
Trevor

Thanks for the reply! I don't think I'll have much trouble getting them switched over to F/T. If I could get my WC Mandarin Rat eating F/T rat pups, these little boas shouldn't be a problem. I use paper towels as a substrate so the splash and dash will work to keep them humid. Do my temps sound ok? I read something that said to keep BRBs under 2 yrs at lower temps...

Your temps are perfect, however I would try to increase the humidity to at least 80%. Babies are much more sensitive to the humidity levels.

Thanks for the advice! First thing I did while setting up their cages was to put them in a rubbermaid tub with damp paper towels to help them with their shedding. The male had a little left on his chin and the female is in full blue. After 45 minutes or so in the tub, the male's incomplete shed came off with no problem. I'll watch the humidity and see that it comes up. I made sure their water bowls were on top of the heat so that should help some.

I've found that paper towl dries out pretty fast. Newspaper is good but must be changed often because it will mold. I keep mine at 88 or so and they are growing at a good rate and they only eat one item once every 7 days. There are pics in my gallery of them. The female turned one this month the male was born in Aug.
Cheers,
Trevor
