Hey!

I just made two
4 by 2 by 2 melamine enclosures..with glass front...(well almost done waiting for the glass

It will house a common boa in each...it will also have a 3 feet floresent fixture in each.......But i do not want to use heat bulbs......What is the best way to heat it up other than heat bulbs....

can u guyz give me a list on what i need n how to set it up........
and where to get it..im in southern ontario

I dont think a normal heat pad could get the temp up that high....
What will?----
n i want something i can find anywhere.........

Ps.....if i do end up using the heat bulbs..how can i block the bulb-----(so the boa doesnt get to it)...chicken wire?.....but how.....This is my first time Building anything out of wood or wires.....so u'll need to keep it simple,...

Thanks
See ya all at the show!

Hi!
You can use heat rope, just hook it up to a rheostat and line part of the corners with the rope. PCPC sells it.

If you are using bulbs, you can make a box of metal mesh to bolt around the bulb (http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=9794 theres a pic there). Or you can cut hole in the wood, cover it with mesh and put a bulb on the outside of the cage pointing.

You can also use heat tape, but I don't know if thats good for a cage like that.
