I'm just wondering if anyone has any tricks for keeping sand out of the tracks in enclosures with sliding glass doors (besides just keeping the doors several inches up from the bottom).

Quick responses would be appreciated, as I want to build one or two large cages meant for desert lizards (a plated lizard, and possibly a future uromastyx) in the next few days....

A lip inside the door works well, if you don't want to raise the level of the door. The only other suggestion is those compressed air cans used to blow out keyboards. A little bit of compressed air works. I suggest the first two though!

On some of our front opening enclosures we have a dam that tilts in. stuff still hets in the tracks but it's not so bad

Regular vacuming is a must
