My girlfriend just called and said that our little baby beardie puked up a hard lump. She said is was about the size of his typical poo. What should I do?

Background: He is about 10 weeks old. He has never had a healthy appetite. He tested negative for parasites. He is offered crickets twice a day but usually only eats them once a day. I tried silk worms but he's not crazy for them either. He's on paper towels and in the same conditions (heat & UVB) as our other baby beardie who is thriving. (they are kept seperate)

I have been worried that he might be a little impacted and that was affecting his appetite and slow growth rate...could he have coughed up something that was clogging him up? Maybe he just tried to eat a piece of poo and then she saw him puke that up?

Was he offered a mealworm at anytime? I tried mealies once and my babies were regurgtating like crazy, i was so scared.

He has been given a total of 5 or 6 mealies in his life (with me) and that was more than a month ago.

Now that I have been home to look at it...it was a regurgitated cricket. The cricket was too big for him and he didn't chew it up very well. I didn't even think that I had any crickets that big...let alone that he would have been given one. It might have came over from where the bigger dragon is.

He seems to be a little more timid about eating the smaller crickets I offered to him but he is active and seemingly normal.

Hey Mike,

I hope your guy is starting to grow. I have another baby now that is 1 month younger and is 1" longer than the sibling of your beardie. If they weren't so red I wish I wouldn't have seen them at the show as i'm thinking it is going to be a hassle for a while getting it to grow. I have had it since the show and I have seen it partially shed only once. My other one has shed in the 3 weeks I have had it and it was pretty much a full shed.

Greg, I know what you mean.

This being my first beardie...it is getting pretty stressfull. He does eat something everyday but not very much. He shed once but that was it. The other one I got at the same time, two weeks older, is now almost double the lenght and triple the weight or more. I really wonder if it's genetic.

I have been trying to feed him a liquid mixture of pedialite, crushed BD pellets, Calcuim & Mineral dust & baby food. He has tasted it a few times but does not take much of it. I guess the next step is to acctually put it into his mouth.

To make matters worse...I'm going away for a week.

Good luck with yours too.
