Oh yay...I wanted to go swimming today and it's shadfly (mayfly) season here in good old North Bay. It's not like it's a new thing or anything. They come every summer here. Apparently it's a sign of a good healthy lake. However, they coat that houses, smell like fish and at night are like in swarms around the lights, which I happen to live near.

Good things though, they feed the bats! :D And I mean, they don't have teeth and don't really harm anyone.

For those of you that don't know what a shad or mayfly is. I took the liberty of taking one off the house and taking a photo:

Lisa - Haha, yeah I hate these buggers when they're in numbers! But i don't mind some of them. They have no teeth, no teeth, no harm. Other than the smell.

I remember fishing for catfish at PickWick Lake during mayfly season. You just walk onto the dock and pluck your bait off the nearest wall, it was awesome.
