Fully grown beardies need AT LEAST a 50 gallon tank... if not bigger! Bigger is ALWAYS better. :D
No granular substrates such as sand or wood chips. You can use newpaper, paper towel, repti-carpet or yesterdays news. Yesterdays news is a substrate made of recycled newspaper, don't get the hard kind though. Get the soft kind, I hear it keeps the smell down in the cage also. :D Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.
why no granular substances Haley?

a 3x2x2 would be bare minimum for an adult bearded dragon. But you shouldn't go for bare minimum, you should get the biggest enclosure you can.
