define Dwarf Burm

In the "triplets?" thread there was a comment to some burms who could possibly be dwarfed. Can someone explain to me what exactly tis means? I know what dwarf means, but I have never heard it with relation to a burmese's overall size. WHat is that average size/length of a dwarfed burm?

All 3 snakes are still small for being 2 year old burms - all under 4 feet. It will be interesting to see in 10 years if they have caught up in size to other burms, or if they all stay "dwarfs". Elvira, their sister that is 1 year older than them is already about 13' long, and 70 lbs.

Also, their tounges don't flick out as far as most burms. They only come out to just past the forks.

I guess the word "dwarf" was used more as a descriptive word than as actual happening. But what are your thoguhts on this? My burm had a lot of problems when she was born and I think she is much smaller than all the others her age. (She's one year old and about 3 feet long.)

the closest thing to a dwarfe is a stunted burm .. grrrr

As with most twins/triplets ect. they are smaller for the first while and catch up later in life.
I would guess this is the case. Only time will tell.

I used the term "dwarfs" and put it into quotations to try and convey that I wasn't naming these as a new and fabulous Dwarf Burm, just using it as a descriptive.

Mardy, you mentioned as with most twins/triplets. Did you mean in other animals, or are you aware of other triplet pythons.

Time will tell, I expect in 3 or 4 more years we should be able to see if they will grow to the size of a normal burm.
