My new Amazon tree boas arrived yesterday. They're perfect feeders, but dull colours. They were the breeder's cheapest pair. I'm new to keeping Amazons, actually I'm new to keeping any boas at all. The male is a year and a half old, the female is only a few months old. Is it normal for the male to actually chase me across a room?? I'll take him out after receiving many bites, and if i put him down he lunges after me and will actually follow me around the house striking. :S he's still small enough that it doesn't hurt much, but do amazons calm down with handling or are they naturally a very agressive snake?
Thanks

If WC you've got your work and many bites cut out for you. They need a fair amount handling when young.

Best of luck

I think most tree boas are very aggressive by nature. If the male has gone to the extent of chasing you, he is a major badass. Take your own chances, but he doesn't sound like he'll calm down to me. I could be wrong though.

lol I know, I'm going to just keep handling them while it's still not quite so painful...I also noticed that both the male and female defecate all over me as soon as they're touched. The female is the worst, she'll defecate the second I touch her, while the male does only after he's given up on biting. It really, really stinks and makes quite a mess.
